The Smart Waste Management System is designed to automate and optimize the process of waste collection in urban areas. Using IoT-enabled sensors placed inside garbage bins, the system continuously monitors the fill levels of each bin and transmits this data to a central server. A cloud-based application processes the data and uses route optimization algorithms to generate efficient garbage truck routes based on the most filled bins. This ensures timely collection, reduces fuel consumption, and minimizes overflowing bins in public areas. Additionally, the system can generate analytics reports for municipal authorities to plan better waste management strategies. The project uses technologies like Arduino, GSM/GPRS modules, ultrasonic sensors, and cloud computing to provide a scalable and cost-effective solution for smart cities.
