Lab Assistant
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Lab Assistant to support our laboratory team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting laboratory personnel with various tasks, maintaining laboratory equipment and supplies, and ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting Laboratory Personnel:
Assist scientists, researchers, and other laboratory personnel with experiments, tests, and procedures.
Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for experiments.
Record and document laboratory data and results.
Laboratory Maintenance:
Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as checking and replacing equipment filters, cleaning laboratory surfaces, and disposing of hazardous waste.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Report any safety incidents or concerns to laboratory management.
Data Entry and Record-Keeping:
Accurately record and document laboratory data and results.
Maintain laboratory records and files.
Inventory Management:
Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies and equipment.
Monitor inventory levels and notify laboratory management when supplies need to be replenished.
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics) preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years of laboratory experience.
Experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a research or testing environment.
Skills:
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Certifications:
Laboratory safety certification (e.g., OSHA) preferred.
CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
Work Environment:
Laboratory setting with potential exposure to hazardous chemicals and biological agents.
Must be able to wear PPE and work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Ability to stand for long periods.

Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 per year.
